Covington is delighted to host an audience with His Excellency Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat at our office in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Now that the AfCFTA has entered its operational phase, H.E. Mene will share updates on the opportunities presented by the world's largest free-trade area across all sectors including technology, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, and mining to mention a few. The discussion, which will be moderated by Chair of the Public Policy Practice for Africa, Mosa Mkhize, will cover how the trade agreement is set to unlock opportunities for business expansion across sectors and will explore some of the challenges that the private sector will face as economies evolve and transition to a more integrated market.
