Covington Nordic Webinar Series: Global ESG Legal and Policy Trends and Implications for Businesses
-
Thursday, September 14, 2023 2:30 PM
- 3:30 PM
Please join us to discuss environmental, social and governance (ESG) legal developments and policy trends impacting Nordic companies doing business around the world. Our speakers include Carol Browner, who has over four decades of environmental experience including serving as the longest tenured administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and as director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy in the Obama administration, and Dan Feldman, former Ambassador and Chief of Staff and Counselor to Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry, during which time he worked closely on climate initiatives with Nordic countries.
The global legal landscape regarding ESG issues is evolving rapidly. It covers a broad range of topics - from human rights due diligence and climate impacts, to sustainability reporting and sustainable finance, greenwashing risks, and green subsidies. Covington helps leading global firms navigate these developments, and their impacts on business operations and value chains.
In this session we will cover:
- An overview of key ESG trends emerging from the U.S., EU and other global markets and their relevance for businesses in the Nordics
- Key legal and reputational risks
- Practical pointers on preparing for and navigating sustainability regulation
