Jihong Lou’s practice focuses on patent litigation in the U.S. district courts, as well as post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, with a particular emphasis on litigation involving pharmaceutical and biologics patents. She also counsels clients on a variety of intellectual property matters, including patent infringement, validity, enforceability, and freedom-to-operate.

Previous Experience

  • Ms. Lou was a scientific advisor (2008-2009) and patent agent (2009-2012) prosecuting patent applications and assisting in due diligence on matters relating to pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and biotechnology.
  • Ms. Lou was a medicinal chemist and a drug discovery project team leader at Pfizer Inc. (2000-2008) where she designed and synthesized small molecule drug candidates in the therapeutic areas of oncology, diabetes, ophthalmology, and virology.
  • Ms. Lou was a post-doctoral research fellow at Columbia University (1998-2000) where she designed and synthesized cyclodextrin derivatives as esterase mimetic.
