Shankar Duraiswamy represents clients in high-stakes, complex litigation matters, particularly those involving products liability, mass torts, and class action claims. He has especially broad experience representing clients in the life sciences industry in a range of matters. An experienced advocate, Mr. Duraiswamy has litigated in numerous federal and state courts, handling cases from inception through trial and appeal.

- Defense of pharmaceutical manufacturers in multiple lawsuits, in state and federal courts, concerning prescription drug pricing.
- National counsel for Takata Corporation in nationwide class action and product liability litigation arising from the largest recall in the history of the auto industry.
- Lead counsel for trade association as intervenor in successful defense of FOIA action.
- Representation of numerous clients in insurance coverage proceedings arising from large-scale accidents, including pipeline explosion, train derailment, and underground chemical release.

- Lead counsel for Plaintiffs in Kravitz v. Department of Commerce, action challenging addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census questionnaire.
- Co-lead counsel for Plaintiffs in Morningside v. Sabree, action challenging unlawful and discriminatory tax foreclosures in the City of Detroit.
- Representation of plaintiffs in a putative class action against the United States Postal Service for failure to provide reasonable accommodations to deaf postal workers.
- Representation of tenants in multiple cases challenging housing conditions, unlawful rent increases, and wrongful eviction attempts.
- Six month full-time assignment at Neighborhood Legal Services Program, providing legal representation and assistance to low-income DC residents on various issues, including landlord-tenant law, domestic law, public benefits hearings, employment law, and consumer law.
