Mitchell has represented corporate and other policyholders in pursuing insurance coverage for a range of underlying liabilities, including antitrust, employment, environmental, government enforcement, intellectual property, mass tort, media, professional liability, and shareholder claims. He has also negotiated, mediated, and litigated insurance claims arising from first-party property, business interruption, cargo, crime, event cancellation, fine art, political risk, product recall, rep-and-warranty, and trade credit losses.

Mitchell has served as the firm’s press spokesperson for the last fifteen years. His other roles within the firm include chairing or co-chairing Covington’s global insurance recovery practice from 2010 to 2020.
