NEW YORK, April 6, 2015 — Christopher DeCresce has joined Covington’s corporate practice in the firm’s New York office. Mr. DeCresce will focus on securities and capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, governance, and securities law reporting and compliance, primarily focused on financial services companies.
“Chris has a proven track record of helping community banks and other financial institutions around the country raise capital and complete strategic transactions. His knowledge and experience in the industry will be a great asset to Covington’s clients in the financial services industry,” said Scott Smith, chair of Covington’s corporate practice.
Mr. DeCresce began his career as an associate for an international law firm in its New York and London offices. He then served as managing director in the Investment Banking Group of Sandler O’Neill & Partners, L.P., a leading middle market investment banking firm focused on the financial services sector. Over a three-year period, Mr. DeCresce successfully executed transactions that raised more than $2 billion for financial institutions across the United States and consummated mergers and acquisitions transactions for financial institutions with an aggregate deal value of approximately $15 billion.
Mr. DeCresce received his bachelor’s degree from City University of New York and his law degree from New York Law School, where he was executive editor of the Law Review.
