Covington’s Gabriel Mesa Named a “Latin America Top 100 Lawyer”

NEW YORK, February 9, 2015 — Covington & Burling is pleased to announce that Gabriel Mesa has been named to Latinvex’s list of “Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers” for the second year in a row.
 
Mr. Mesa counsels corporations in joint ventures and private mergers and acquisitions in Latin America and other emerging markets, as well as in the United States. He has represented clients in Latin American transactions that include: Linzor Capital Partners’ merger of the retail operations of one of its Mexican portfolio companies to create Latin America’s largest eyewear retailer; Grupo Financiero Banorte’s acquisition of Afore Bancomer in Mexico; and Sura Asset Management’s joint acquisition with Scotiabank of AFP Horizonte in Peru.
