WASHINGTON, DC, December 1, 2014 — Law360 named Covington & Burling partner David Fagan a “most valuable player” in international trade law. Law360’s “MVP of the Year” awards recognize lawyers who have had successes in complex global matters, high-stakes litigation, and record-breaking deals in the past year.

In its profile of Mr. Fagan, Law360 highlighted his work in successfully steering major global M&A deals through approvals by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S., including Lenovo Group Ltd.’s $2.1 billion acquisition of an IBM Corp. server business.

Law360 noted that Mr. Fagan, who serves as co-chairman of the cross-border investment and national security practice in the firm’s international trade group, helped secure government approval for more than $10.5 billion worth of transactions in 2014 on behalf of major companies, including not only Lenovo but also American Express Co. and The Carlyle Group.
