WASHINGTON, DC, October 4, 2010 — For the third consecutive year, Covington & Burling LLP has earned the top rating of 100 percent in the 2011 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
Covington’s 100% rating reflects its written non-discrimination policy; sexual orientation and gender identity training; support for same-sex partners of employees with health insurance, bereavement and family leave policies; and its contribution to LGBT community organizations.
Tim Hester, chair of Covington’s management committee, said: “At Covington, we recognize that the job of promoting diversity is never complete. We strive not just to keep pace with our peers, but rather to lead by example and continue raising the bar for our entire profession.”
