SAN FRANCISCO, April 8, 2010 — For the third consecutive year, Covington & Burling LLP partners Rob Fram and Bob Haslam have been named to The San Francisco and Los Angeles Daily Journals’ list of Top Intellectual Property Litigators in California. The list honors lawyers from both the public and private sectors whose work has a significant impact on the world of intellectual property and the development of law in this area.
Mr. Fram, co-chair of Covington’s 100 lawyer patent litigation group, was recognized for a string of recent victories, including three straight patent litigation victories for clients through dispositive motions and a jury verdict. In another case, a dispositive motion gutted the plaintiff’s case, leading to a favorable settlement for his client. These victories, in addition to a successful ITC trial, capped a busy year.
Mr. Haslam’s successful trial practice involves patent litigation, trade secret litigation, and other related high-technology disputes. He has represented clients in a range of arts and practices, including semiconductor products and processes, cryptography, GPS and cellular technology, electronic circuits, microprocessors and software products, medical devices and other life science products. One of his most recent victories came in January, when a mere 48 hours after his oral argument, the Federal Circuit summarily affirmed a 2008 jury verdict which had followed a seven day trial. Mr. Haslam is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Covington’s IP group and its lawyers have been widely recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, Chambers Global, IP Law and Business, The Legal 500, and The Practical Law Company.
