Covington Expands Technology Transactions Practice With Addition of Nigel Howard


NEW YORK, NY, May 12, 2008 — Covington & Burling LLP is pleased to announce that Nigel Howard has joined the firm’s technology transactions practice as a partner. Mr. Howard will be resident in Covington’s New York office.

Mr. Howard’s practice focuses on information technology, outsourcing, and intellectual property issues. He represents clients in complex technology transactions, including outsourcing, licensing, joint venture, and strategic alliance transactions. Mr. Howard also has experience representing clients during IP property purchases and sales, and in reviews of IP portfolios in relation to corporate financing and merger and acquisition transactions.

“Nigel is a leader in IT transactions,” said Scott Smith, co-chair of Covington’s corporate group. “His background and experience working at firms both in the US and in London will be an asset to our growing global corporate practice and our international client base.”

Mr. Howard is a graduate of Lancaster University and the University of London, where he received a masters degree in IP law.
