Covington’s Ethan Posner Selected As One of 50 "Rising Litigation Stars" by The American Lawyer

January 16, 2007

WASHINGTON, DC, January 16, 2007The American Lawyer named Covington & Burling LLP partner Ethan Posner a “Rising Litigation Star” in its January 2007 issue.  The feature, titled "The Young Litigators Fab Fifty,” includes the nation’s 50 most accomplished litigators under the age of 45.

The honorees were selected by the magazine’s editorial staff out of a pool of hundreds of names based on their past accomplishments and potential future performance.  The article singles out Mr. Posner for his emergence as a leader in the health care litigation field and his skillful handling of “litigation and civil and criminal investigations for the country’s largest pharmaceutical companies.”  Posner, who served as Deputy Associate Attorney General from 1999 to 2001, joined Covington in 1990, became a partner in 1997, and returned in 2001 after his service at the Justice Department.

Mr. Posner currently serves as Co-Chair of the firm's Pharmaceutical Litigation & Investigations Practice Group.  He represents numerous major pharmaceutical companies and other health care organizations in federal and state criminal and civil government investigations, False Claims Act cases, and private class actions.  PLC Cross Border/Best Lawyers recently named Mr. Posner one of the two leading lawyers in the nation for pharmaceutical government investigations and litigation and called him "undisputably one of the leaders in his field."

The American Lawyer is the legal industry's leading monthly magazine.
