Covington Advises Riptech, Inc. in Its Acquisition by Symantec, Inc.

August 21, 2002 - WASHINGTON, D.C - Covington & Burling represented Riptech, Inc., a leading provider of scalable, real-time managed security services, in its sale to Symantec, Inc. which was consummated on August 19, 2002. Symantec paid an aggregate of $145 million in cash for privately-held Riptech. The combination of Symantec and Riptech will create a global network of Security Operations Centers operating in Virginia, Texas, the United Kingdom, Germany and Japan.
