Contracting industry groups praise Trump’s regulations order

February 7, 2017, Inside Defense

Roger Zakheim is quoted in an Inside Defense article regarding the contracting industry’s reactions to President Trump’s plan to reduce government regulations. Commenting on the Pentagon’s stance, Zakheim says that while it will see the executive order applied to it, the Defense Department has "very active congressional oversight and regular annual legislation, which drives and addresses all of its policy, including regulation." He adds that reducing Pentagon regulations has already been an area of focus for Congress, saying, "So, in some respects this executive order is truly not designed first and foremost for the Department of Defense.”
