How Congress Can Still Save the Children of Syria

December 24, 2016, The Daily Beast

Layth Elhassani is quoted by The Daily Beast in an article regarding The Save the Children Act, which was recently introduced to Congress. Elhassani, who helped draft the bill, says, “Whether it’s about the election or not, the beauty of the bill is you don’t have to be for expanded immigration or a bigger government, this is a public-private partnership that is focused around the children of a civil war [in Syria].” He adds, “If there are ways to lower the security risk further, we’re all ears. We’re not here to roll the dice on security. We’re trying to be part of a solution to what is a much larger problem.”
