FAA’s Drone Rules Break New Ground

Jack Schenendorf is quoted in a Wall Street Journal article regarding the new FAA rules on commercial drone usage. According to Schenendorf, FAA leaders “are showing a lot more flexibility” than under traditional safety rules. He adds, however, that the FAA now “could be flooded with requests” for waivers, and how it handles them will help determine the agency’s success in defining safety issues.
