Thousands of companies await EU ruling on U.S. data privacy pact

September 30, 2015, Reuters

Special counsel Monika Kuschewsky is quoted in a Reuters article discussing the awaited EU ruling on the U.S. data privacy pact. Although the Advocate General argues the Safe Harbor agreement should be scrapped following the Snowden leaks, Kuschewsky states, "The same issue would also still exist whatever other mechanism you use to transfer personal data. None of these other mechanisms excludes U.S. intelligence services from accessing that data." The ruling will be decided on October 6.
