On December 15 and 16, 2022, Covington partner Peter Flanagan will again serve as co-chair of the annual Practising Law Institute (PLI) Conference in Washington on “Coping with U.S. Export Controls and Sanctions.” This program combines a comprehensive update on the full range of U.S. export control and economic sanctions developments, with practical insights on developing and managing compliance programs. The conference features senior policymakers from each of the key U.S. government trade control agencies, as well as industry representatives and other experienced practitioners. Among other topics, this year’s conference will focus on the impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and rising U.S.-China tensions on export controls and sanctions.

Our colleague Peter Lichtenbaum will participate on a panel on “Tightening Controls on China: Developments and Prospects” on December 15. Josh Williams will co-lead a one-hour webcast briefing on the “Basics of Export Controls” prior to the conference (December 5 at 1 p.m. EST).

Covington has arranged for a special 20 percent registration discount for clients and friends of the firm. Please follow this link to register and use the priority code RNH2 COV20 at checkout to receive the discount.
