What advice would you give to someone who wants to be an ally to the API community?

40 different countries make up the Asia Pacific region. That means that our API colleagues may have vastly different cultural heritages and lived experiences – whether as X-generation Americans or immigrants. I encourage folks to engage with and to be supportive and inclusive of our API friends and colleagues. Allyship can be demonstrated through understanding each of our daily lived experiences.

What inspired you to get involved in the API Affinity Group?

With civil unrest across communities and the increase in Asian hate crimes over the past year, I felt that I should be taking some form of action to support the broader API community. Covington offered a unique leadership and training opportunity. It has been a rewarding experience as I've collaborated with a great team of firm staff and lawyers.
