Covington Sponsors Hispanic Bar Equal Justice Awards Reception

Covington is proud to have sponsored the Hispanic Bar Association of DC (“HBA-DC”) Equal Justice Awards reception on November 9, 2018. The event honored several lawyers and organizations whose accomplishments embody the principles underlying HBA-DC’s mission, including Wandaly Fernández, Catherine Cone, Sulma Arias, The Abramson Scholarship Foundation, and the Honorable Poli A. Marmolejos. HBA-DC’s Foundation also awarded scholarships to four Latinx law students in the DC area. Mónica Ramírez, founder of non-profit organizations Justice for Migrant Women and Alianza Nacional de Campesinas, served as this year’s keynote speaker.

Representing Covington at the event were José Arvelo, former associate Jaclyn Martínez Resly (also an HBA-DC board member), Sezer Solak (not pictured), former associate Ashley Sprague, Veronica Yepez, and recent summer associate Nicolle Wainer (not pictured).
