Covington Lawyers Attend NAPABA Annual Convention

Several Covington lawyers attended the 2017 NAPABA (National Asian Pacific American Bar Association) Convention held November 2 to 5, 2017 in Washington. Covington attendees included Wendy Feng, Nooree Lee, Vivian Choi, Annie Wang, and Ashley Kwon. The NAPABA Convention was a great opportunity for networking, civic engagement, and legal learning for all attendees. 

Being able to connect with old friends and meet new friends-of-friends is the best way to expand one’s network in an enduring way, and the convention was an excellent networking opportunity. Even within the Covington group, several attendees from different offices had an opportunity to meet through this convention. During the Friday plenary lunch, the Covington group gathered to discuss their respective practice areas. The comedian/filmmaker Hari Kondabolu was the speaker for this lunch, where he touched upon several relatable cultural issues.

In addition, there was plenty of substantive legal learning at the convention. Several Covington lawyers moderated or spoke on panels. Nooree Lee participated in "Uncle Sam (Still) Wants You: U.S. Buying Power under the New Washington and What It Means for Asia"; and Wendy Feng in "Tips & Practice Pointers on Identifying, Evaluating and Handling Insurance Claims."

The conference was a wonderful opportunity for attendees to hear some of the best in the industry share their expertise in a small group setting. Covington associate Vivian Choi said, "It's always good to step away from our desks and learn something new."
