Mentoring Programme

At Covington, we recognise the differences among us as an asset and a source of strength. We believe that excellence in the practice of law knows no racial, ethnic, gender, religious, sexual orientation, or other boundaries. We are therefore pleased to announce the launch of our 2021 mentoring programme, which is open to underrepresented groups to increase diversity and access to the legal profession.

Eligibility

Applications are open to law and non-law students from any underrepresented group (any multicultural background, students with disabilities, LGBTQ+, first generation university students). We are also open to receive applications from other students who have faced adversity during their education. Applicants should be on track for a 2.1 degree.

What will the mentoring scheme involve?

  • A one-to-one mentoring relationship with a lawyer or trainee at Covington who will mentor you through the academic year via regular video calls.
  • A virtual launch event to learn more about the mentoring relationship and Covington.
  • Skills sessions throughout the programme focusing on upskilling.
  • Receive expert advice from someone who has successfully navigated the legal career path.
  • Build a relationship and receive support you whilst you juggle your degree alongside your legal journey.

How to apply?

  • Applications are open from 2 September– 29 September
  • Candidates should submit an application online.
