LONDON—Covington made the list of top 25 top law firms for pro bono work in the UK, released by Law.com International. The firm also came in sixth based on the percentage of lawyers doing pro bono work.
Law.com highlighted several of Covington's pro bono project from the past year, including securing provisional measures on behalf of Ukraine in proceedings against the Russian Federation before the International Court of Justice in spring 2022, following Russia’s invasion of the country. The firm has also worked in collaboration with the Migrant and Refugee Children’s Legal Unit at Islington Law Centre, and Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) UK to provide children and young people with pro bono immigration and nationality legal advice and representation.
The survey recognizes the firms that stand out out for their commitment to pro bono work, both in statistical terms, and the nature of the projects they work on. For every firm that took part in this year’s research, Law.com International looked at the total number of pro bono hours worked, as well as the percentage of each firm’s lawyers working on pro bono matters.
