Rhulani Nkomo is an associate in the firm's Project Development and Finance Practice Group, based in the Johannesburg office.
Rhulani is South African law qualified and has significant experience in the finance transactional work in South Africa and across Africa. She specialises in project finance, leveraged finance, general corporate finance and banking finance, preference share funding and cross border English law transactions in Africa. Rhulani advises clients across of number of industry sectors including, financial services, mining, property, infrastructure and renewable energy. She has also been growing her practice in project development as well as carbon-related transactions.
Rhulani has represented local and international banks, DFIs, international impact fund investors as lenders and sponsors, developers, and borrowers, including listed and state-owned entities and multinational corporations in transactions in a number of African jurisdictions as well as in Middle East and Europe.
Prior to joining the firm she was head of legal at a property developer and before that, she practiced almost exclusively as a banking and finance lawyer. Over the course of her career, she has also lived and practiced in South Africa, Tanzania, and United Kingdom (London).
