Covington Awarded Top HRC Rating for Seventh Year
November 19, 2014
WASHINGTON, DC, November 19, 2014 — For the seventh consecutive year, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation has awarded Covington & Burling the top rating of 100 percent in the 2015 Corporate Equality Index.
Covington’s rating reflects its support for same-sex partners of employees through health insurance, bereavement and family leave policies, as well as its written non-discrimination policy, sexual orientation and gender identity training, and contribution to LGBTQ community organizations.
“Covington is extremely proud to be recognized with another perfect rating from HRC,” said
Michael Imbroscio, chair of the firm’s diversity committee. “This honor reflects our dedication to diversity and inclusion, a fundamentally important component of the firm’s culture, and our ongoing commitment to LGBTQ equality.”
HRC's annual report provides an in-depth analysis and rating of large U.S. employers and their policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees. Covington joins the ranks of 364 businesses that also earned top marks this year, and will be recognized in HRC’s “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ Equality” list.
