Scott F. Smith

Scott Smith is a member of the firm’s corporate group and was its chair from 1999-2020. He is a principal and trusted advisor to companies including Illumina, Indivior, Leeds Equity, MidFirst Bank, and Public Pension Capital (PPC). Scott advises corporate boards, independent directors, special committees, and audit committees on their most significant matters including corporate governance,  securities law, mergers, litigation, and regulatory matters.

Scott also sat on the firm's management and executive committees for many years. He previously was the managing partner of Howard, Smith & Levin which became part of Covington in 1999.
