Covington Champions Mansfield Rule

Ingrid RechtinIngrid Rechtin, a corporate partner in San Francisco, participated in the Covington-sponsored ABA Summit on "Achieving Long-Term Careers for Women in Law" on June 29. Covington is proud to support conversations about diversity in leadership ranks.

In 2016, Ms. Rechtin was a member of the small team that created the Mansfield Rule as part of the first Women in Law Hackathon. The Hackathon, sponsored by Diversity Lab, Stanford Law School, and Bloomberg Law, focused on the development of innovative proposals to retain women attorneys at law firms. The Mansfield Rule is designed to measure whether law firms have affirmatively considered women, LGBTQ+, and racial/ethnic minority lawyers for promotions, senior level hiring, and significant leadership roles in the firm. Covington is one of 40+ law firms across the nation piloting the rule this year.
