Last Friday, Covington attorneys Mona Patel, Nooree Lee, and Marianne Kies represented the firm at the Annual Awards Gala for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of D.C. The Gala was a black-tie affair held at the Museum of Women in the Arts with over 300 attendees. The event featured awards presented by the Honorable Florence Y. Pan of the D.C. Superior Court, a swearing in ceremony with the Honorable Theodore Chuang of the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, and a fireside chat with Weili Cheng, Deputy General Counsel of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company.
The Gala is APABA-DC’s signature event attracting many of the leading figures in D.C.’s APA legal community, and Covington attorneys were able to hear from and interact with this distinguished group. In particular, Ms. Cheng delivered a heart-felt address that encouraged young APA attorneys to push boundaries and not be afraid to ask for what they want in their careers.
Covington was a Gold Level sponsor for the event, and Covington associate Nooree Lee serves on the board of APABA-DC.
