Cecile Zwiebach is a member of the firm’s Corporate group and is resident in our New York office.  Her practice focuses on Latin American cross-border transactions and on technology transactions.  She advises financial institutions, private equity firms and companies in strategic mergers and acquisitions.  She also advises a wide range of clients in connection with IT infrastructure matters, including the negotiation of information technology services agreements and global ticket inventory distribution arrangements as well as data collaborations and various projects relating to proprietary rights to data, data privacy and data security.

Prior to joining Covington, Ms. Zwiebach was associated with another leading law firm in New York City.

  • Represented a major airline in the negotiation of information technology services agreements with Amadeus and Sabre. 
  • Advised major airline on negotiation of data usage agreement with large travel aggregator.
  • Represented Grupo Financiero Banorte, the Mexican financial group, and its affiliate Afore XXI Banorte in the $1.6 billion acquisition of Afore Bancomer from Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), the Spanish bank, to create Mexico’s largest pension fund.
  • Represented Grupo Sura, the Colombian financial group, and its affiliate AFP Integra S.A. in the $516 million acquisition of 50% of AFP Horizonte S.A., the Peruvian pension fund, from BBVA.
