Rebecca Jacobs is a litigator whose practice focuses on high-stakes insurance recovery for policyholder clients. As an insurance recovery specialist, Ms. Jacobs represents global companies in a wide range of industries including technology, energy, media and entertainment, financial services, mining and metals, and real estate development. Her practice includes claims under a variety of insurance policies including general liability, first-party property and business interruption, directors and officers, media liability, intellectual property, and representations and warranties.

Ms. Jacobs has also represented companies in commercial and IP disputes.

  • Obtained millions of dollars of insurance coverage for alternative energy client before significant discovery.
  • Successful representation of leading entertainment and media enterprise on a variety of claims under its media and general liability policies including obtaining summary judgment on coverage of media claim.
  • Represents Noranda Aluminum in insurance coverage lawsuit involving business interruption coverage for two major accidents at aluminum plant (Noranda Aluminum Holding Corp. v. XL Insurance America, Inc., et al., Del. Super. Ct.).
  • Represents a private equity firm in a dispute with its representations and warranties insurer.
  • Trial counsel for Deere in one-week bench trial enforcing rights in green and yellow color trademark on agricultural equipment, resulting in judgment for Deere on both infringement and dilution claims and entry of injunction. The ruling was recognized by Law360 as one of the "Top 10 Trademark Rulings" of 2017.   
  • Representation of leading healthcare distributor in defending trade secret dispute seeking $190 million in damages.
  • Pre-publication review and advice to television news stations on issues concerning copyright and fair use, Freedom of Information Act, privacy, and newsgathering.
