Rebecca Hurt is an associate in the firm’s New York office and a member of the Corporate Practice Group. Ms. Hurt has experience in a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, financings and general corporate and strategic matters.

Prior to joining Covington, Ms. Hurt was associated with another leading law firm in New York City, where she represented clients in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and financing.

  • Represented The Williams Companies, Inc. in connection with its proposed combination with Energy Transfer Equity, L.P. in a transaction valued at approximately $38 billion.
  • Represented IBM in connection with its acquisition of a telecommunications corporation’s managed application and managed hosting services business.
  • Represented Barnes & Noble, Inc. in connection with its spin-off of Barnes & Noble Education.
  • Represented the initial purchasers in connection with an aggregate $4 billion high-yield notes offering of CHS/Community Health Systems, Inc., in connection with its acquisition of Health Management Associates, Inc.
  • Represented JPMorgan Chase as lead arranger in a combined $41 billion bridge financing in connection with Actavis plc’s acquisition of Allergan, Inc. valued at $66 billion.
  • Represented Casa Cuervo S.A. de C.V. in a $500 million bridge financing in connection with its acquisition of Old Bushmills Distillery Company from Diageo.
