  • Acting for an Australian private equity fund pursuing a U.S. $10m breach of exclusive mandate claim against a UK mining company concerning operations in Africa. Dispute ongoing.
  • Acted for multiple off-shore entities in a U.S. $900 million dispute concerning a billion-dollar joint venture in Russian energy assets including claims for misrepresentation, breach of trust, dishonest assistance, and various cross-border insolvency related issues. Dispute ongoing.
  • Acted for a Big Four accounting firm in defense of a AU $60m claim for breach of contract, negligence and misrepresentation by corporate entities that entered external administration on alleged reliance of defendants’ advice. Successfully obtained favorable pre-defense, mediated outcome.
  • Acted for insolvency practitioner in defence of a AU $60m claim in tort and for breach of fiduciary duties by debtor companies/directors. Successfully obtained defendant summary judgment.
  • Acted for 12 local government authorities in a AU $50m class action for misrepresentation, negligence and breach of fiduciary duties against, among others, a major rating agency, relating to the mis-sale of structured derivatives. Successfully obtained award for full claim.
  • Acted for a major Australian miner, defending a AU $100m claim relating to the construction of a power station. Successfully defended claim.
  • Acted for a major Australian public infrastructure company, defending a AU $60m claim relating to the extension of a major transport hub. Successfully defended claim.
