WASHINGTON, DC, April 7, 2009 — Covington & Burling LLP is pleased to announce the promotion of four lawyers to of counsels and special counsels.
The new of counsels are as follows:
- Heather Haberl represents local, regional, and national owners, developers, property managers, tax-exempt organizations, and other users in all aspects of real estate transactions involving the acquisition, disposition, financing, management, leasing and construction of office buildings, industrial parks, manufacturing facilities, special use facilities, and residential projects.
- Jennifer Plitsch specializes in government contracts where her practice includes a wide range of contracting issues for large and small businesses in both defense and civilian contracting. Her practice involves advising clients on contract proposal, performance, and compliance questions as well as transactional and legislative issues. Ms. Plitsch has particular expertise in advising clients on Federal Supply Schedule contracts, including the complex pricing requirements imposed on pharmaceutical products under the VA FSS.
The new special counsels are as follows:
- Miguel López Forastier practices in the areas of international arbitration and litigation. He has been involved in a number of matters representing clients in both investor-State and commercial arbitrations. He has also represented various companies in state and federal courts. Mr. López Forastier is currently ranked in the Legal 500 US for International Arbitration.
- Christopher Wenk is a litigator who practices in the firm’s insurance group. He has represented policyholders at all stages of civil litigation and in resolving claims through negotiated settlements. His practice focuses on the litigation of complex insurance coverage cases, and he has litigated cases seeking insurance coverage for a wide range of liabilities, including environmental claims, catastrophic property damage claims, and asbestos-related claims.
All four are based in the firm’s Washington office.
