Latin America Series 2020: Mexico

Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2020 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Please join Covington’s Latin America Initiative for the firm’s Latin America Series 2020: Mexico, Session One: Global Supply Chain Reordering and the Strategic Case for Relocation.

Please join us on Wednesday, October 21 at 9:30 a.m. EDT for the first of three sessions of Covington’s annual Latin America Series. This year, the series will focus on Mexico.

Thanks to its proximity to and close trade relationship with the U.S., Mexico is a key alternative for companies considering relocating supply chains from Asia as a result of geopolitical shifts and other reasons.

The first session will focus on some of the broad geopolitical trends resulting in global supply chain reordering. The next two sessions will address issues specific to doing business in Mexico. The first session will cover:

  • The U.S.-China relationship and decoupling
  • How the U.S. Congress views the U.S.-China relationship
  • U.S. National Security and supply chain compliance considerations
  • The business case for relocation

The presenters for this program will include:

Jon Kyl
Senior Of Counsel

Christopher Adams
