Yan Luo is an associate in the firm’s Beijing office, where she is a member of the firm’s International and Antitrust and Competition Law practice groups. She has advised clients in a broad array of regulatory matters in connection with international trade, antitrust/competition and public procurement laws in the US, EU and China. Her experience covers life science, aviation, high-tech and clean energy industries. She has degrees from law schools in the US (Harvard) and China (Fudan), as well as the EU.
Prior to joining the firm’s Beijing office, Ms. Luo worked as a lawyer-from-abroad in the Washington DC office of Covington & Burling, after completing an internship with the Office of International Affairs of the U.S. Federal Trade Commission as an International Antitrust Specialist.
Before moving to the US, Ms. Luo worked as an associate with a British law firm in Brussels, where she represented major Chinese companies and the Chinese government in trade, competition and public procurement matters before the European Commission and national authorities in EU Member States.

- Serving as co-counsel for one of the world’s leading life sciences companies regarding a merger clearance matter at MOFCOM.
- Advise a leading business software company on policy, legislative, and judicial developments on standard setting in China.
- Advise a leading payment card association on the implications of WTO dispute settlement proceeding affecting electronic payment services in China.
