Weishi Li is a partner in the firm's Shanghai office. Her practice covers a wide range of technology-related transactions across multiple technology sectors, including the life sciences and hi-tech industries. She has extensive experience assisting multinational companies and Chinese companies in structuring and negotiating cross-border transactions with a significant intellectual property element, such as technology joint ventures and strategic alliances.
Ms. Li has particular expertise in life sciences transactions in China. She has helped structure and negotiate many commercial, corporate and partnering transactions in the life sciences industry in China, including collaborations, joint ventures, licensing, promotion, supply and distribution arrangements. Ms. Li spent the early part of her career in private practice in Boston, where she gained valuable insight into the perspective of western life sciences companies and the complex issues involved in life sciences transactions. Over the past 7 years, based in Shanghai, she has built up extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with issues unique in cross-border transactions involving China.
Ms. Li also regularly provides IP counseling to leading PE/VC funds and multinational companies investing into or acquiring technology and life sciences companies in China, including conducting substantive patent due diligence review on target companies.
