Robin Wolfenden is an associate in the employment practice group in the London office who joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2008.
Ms. Wolfenden advises multinational companies on international employment issues, including cross-border recruitment and dismissals, drafting and implementation of global employment contracts and policies and the protection of legitimate business interests across borders.
Ms. Wolfenden’s domestic practice covers a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters including contracts of employment, the protection of intellectual property and confidential information, restrictive covenants, redundancies and restructuring, as well as unfair dismissal, discrimination and other employment protection claims. She also advises on the employment and HR aspects of corporate transactions.
Ms. Wolfenden’s experience includes secondments to a leading pharmaceutical company and a global entertainment company.
Ms. Wolfenden speaks at client seminars on recent developments in employment law and has published articles for both client publications and legal journals.
Representative Matters
- Assisting a multi-national healthcare company on its restructuring and consequential redundancy exercises in Australia, Switzerland, France, Italy, and the UK.
- Advising a global technology provider in connection with the dismissal of a senior employee (dirigenti) in Italy.
- Advising a leading pharmaceutical and healthcare company on all non-US employment and employee benefits issues in connection with its proposed acquisition of a specialist rare diseases company.
- Responsible for the co-ordination of numerous redundancy exercises across Central and Eastern Europe following an internal restructuring of a global pharmaceutical company.
- Conducted a review of 200 employee files in connection with a multi-billion dollar divestment of a global entertainment company.
- Advising a multi-national pharmaceutical company on the employment implications arising from the acquisition and subsequent integration of another business in the same sector, including the negotitation of over 400 compromise agreements.
- Representing an international law firm in defending a disability discrimination employment tribunal claim.
- Preparation of employment contracts, policies and other employment-related documents for a number of clients.
Pro Bono
- Advising a number of UK-based charities, including SolarAid, on a range of commercial, corporate and employment related matters.
- Nominated for the LawWorks 2012 Pro Bono Award for Best Contribution by an Individual.
- Structuring numerous UK/African cross-border employment arrangements for SolarAid.
