Roger Enock is a partner in Covington & Burling’s Litigation and Policyholder Coverage practice groups.
Mr. Enock has extensive experience advising corporations, financial institutions, liquidators and individuals in a variety of judicial, arbitral and regulatory proceedings in the UK and other jurisdictions. His experience has included:
- representing policy holders in claims against insurers;
- advising on major restructuring and insolvencies;
- internal investigations in the UK and abroad;
- international and domestic arbitrations;
- FSA investigations; and
- co-ordinating multi jurisdictional litigation.
Before joining Covington in June 2007, Mr. Enock was a litigation partner at Freshfields for 15 years.
Representative Matters
- Representing Merial in connection with all aspects of the 2007 Foot and Mouth outbreak: regulatory, fact finding, defending (and striking out) the proceedings commenced by the National Farmers Union.
- A number of ICC-London arbitrations acting for one of the major manufacturers of flu vaccine.
- Substantial insurance disputes with the London market on behalf of two of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies.
- Acting for one of the world’s largest electronics manufacturers in “follow on” UK court proceedings for damages arising out of an alleged cartel under investigation by the EU commission.
- Textron in litigation in the High Court challenging efforts by solvent London Market companies to use so-called "solvent schemes of arrangement" to curtail their coverage obligations.
- A South African mobile phone company in relation to a $1.5 billion shareholder dispute in the UK, Holland and Nigeria.
