Peter Zern is a partner in the firm’s corporate group, whose practice focuses on sports and media transactions, finance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Zern represents many of the firm’s sports clients, including Major League Baseball, NASCAR, the National Basketball Association, the National Football League and the National Hockey League. In addition to sports media, finance and other sports-industry transactions, Mr. Zern has significant experience in negotiating and structuring debt and equity financings and mergers and acquisitions.
Representative Matters
- Represented Major League Baseball in negotiations for the distribution of the The MLB Network.
- Represented NASCAR in media negotiations with ESPN, Turner, FOX and other television broadcast and new media partners.
- Represented the National Football League in connection with financings for the construction of new stadiums for the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants/Jets stadium joint venture.
- Represented JLG Industries, Inc. in its $3.2 billion merger into Oshkosh Truck Corporation, its acquisition of Omniquip and Delta Manlift, its disposition of Gradall Industries, a public offering of $125 million of common stock, private placements of $125 million senior notes and $175 million senior subordinated notes and its $200 million senior secured credit facility.
