Government Contracts & Federal-State Programs

|
The federal government annually spends hundreds of billions of dollars through federal agency purchases and the federal assistance programs administered by state and local governments. Covington lawyers assist both commercial entities and state governments that seek or are receiving federal funds to navigate and make optimal use of the complex and intersecting statutes, regulations, executive orders and agency policies that govern federal spending, whether through government contracts or federal-state programs.
Our Government Contracts group represents a wide range of clients doing business with all major federal agencies at the prime and subcontract levels, at all stages of the contracting process, in contracts subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (“FAR”) as well as non-FAR contracts, federal grants and other transactions.
Our Federal-State Programs group represents a number of state and local governments, as well as their consultants and contractors, in a broad array of issues arising under federal assistance programs, including Medicaid, Foster Care and Adoption Assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and Child Support Enforcement.
