The firm’s Public Policy and Government Affairs Transportation practice provides advice at various levels of government and across all modes.  The expertise and experience reflected in the firm’s governmental affairs counsel is an integral part of the “one-stop shop” approach to problem solving that the firm is able to provide with its transportation practice.

The transportation practice group has provided a broad range of public policy and government affairs counsel on a variety of issues.  It continues to play a lead role in advising the rail industry on economic regulatory changes to its governing statute.  It provides ongoing legislative counsel to a major airline particularly in the areas of pension reform and infrastructure funding.  It advised several clients on recently highway funding legislation.  On these and other matters, the firm lawyers offer broad substantive transportation experience, as well as an in depth understanding of the workings of the Senate and the House, Federal agencies, and the Federal budget process.  Jack Schenendorf, formerly Chief Counsel for the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, offers this extensive experience and expertise.  In fact, Mr. Schenendorf is currently a Vice Chair of the Commission that was established in the recently passed highway legislation to review and make recommendations concerning infrastructure financing options.
