Representative Matters
Our experience includes the following significant matters.
In the federal legislative arena:
- Representing a number of banks and other institutions and organizations, including the American Bankers Association, in connection with the drafting and enactment of the Dodd-Frank Act.
- Representing financial trade associations in connection with the drafting and enactment of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACT Act).
- Representing a number of large financial institutions and trade associations in connection with the formulation and enactment of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
- Representing the banking industry in connection with the formulation and passage of the Riegle-Neal Interstate Banking and Branching Efficiency Act of 1994.
- Representing the life insurance industry and individual life insurance companies in developing proposed federal legislation with respect to the optional federal chartering and regulation of life insurers.
On the state level:
- Representing an alliance of the major financial trade associations on various forms of state privacy legislation affecting financial institutions, including testimony before legislatures in many different states.
