Many of the firm’s clients operate internationally.  We advise non-US clients regarding environmental implications of commercial ventures in the United States, and we counsel US-based multinationals about emerging environmental requirements abroad.  Through our London and Brussels offices we are closely attuned to environmental issues in the European Union.  Candido Garcia Molyneux of our Brussels office assists clients on a wide range of EU environmental regulatory issues.  Candido Garcia is the correspondent for chemicals for the Oxford Yearbook of European Environmental Law and is also a lecturer on EU Environmental Law and Policy at the College of Europe.  Charles Lister of our London office is the author of European Union Environmental Law: A Guide for Industry (John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 1996).  We are also active in environmental issues in Latin America and Asia.  We assist clients in connection with international transactions of all types, including advising clients seeking funding for international projects in addressing requirements of international lenders.  We counsel on compliance with international regimes under the Basel Convention and the OECD for transboundary shipment of wastes.
