Since the passage of Superfund, our clients recognize that environmental liabilities can be affected by business and real estate transactions.  Along with our firm’s corporate lawyers, or in some cases corporate lawyers from firms outside of Washington, we spearhead environmental due diligence efforts, conduct negotiations to achieve consensus on complicated environmental issues, and prepare contract language to address these issues.  Our environmental lawyers have extensive experience in developing solutions to the issues that arise in this context, having participated in hundreds of transactions, as well as in litigation concerning disputes over liability for environmental costs after such transactions are completed.
