The firm's environmental practice includes advice and representation in regulatory and legislative matters, litigation, and transactional work throughout the United States and abroad. We frequently serve as specialist advisors or advocates on specific projects presenting novel and complex issues, often of national and international importance.
Since the early 1970s, our environmental practice has focused on representation of companies and trade associations in rulemaking proceedings and appellate challenges to regulations, compliance advice, civil and criminal enforcement proceedings and citizen suits, and environmental aspects of business transactions. We have extensive experience with the major regulatory statutes such as the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act, and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. We also have extensive experience with liability, contribution, remedy selection, and NRD issues under the Superfund statute. We also regularly advise and represent clients concerning a number of other environmental, health, and safety programs.
