Covington’s Real Estate practice offers a full range of transactional and advisory services.  Our practice ranges from the structuring and implementation of complex acquisitions, developments, financings, and dispositions to counseling Fortune 500 corporations, trade associations, law firms, not-for-profit organizations, developers and  individual owners of commercial and residential property.

Our real estate attorneys regularly represent clients in all aspects of their acquisition and development projects, commercial leasing activities, financing transactions, construction, and litigation matters.  We have substantial experience representing owners with respect to the negotiation of their development, design, construction and project management documents for their facilities and other capital improvement projects.  We also structure and implement the real estate components of multi-faceted corporate transactions, as well as advise on matters involving potential environmental liabilities, or tax, or insolvency matters for our clients.

Covington represents hundreds of corporations and not-for-profit, governmental, and quasi-governmental instrumentalities, mostly in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  Our clients include developers, investors, asset managers, landlords, tenants, property managers, estates, foundations, schools, and individuals.

Of particular significance is our experience representing parties to public/private development ventures, commercial leasing, and not-for-profit organizations in the acquisitions or development of headquarters facilities.
