Pat Davies is a partner in the Washington office who advises and represents pharmaceutical companies, multinational corporations, and trade associations in mass tort, product liability, and class action lawsuits.  Mr. Davies has also represented pharmaceutical and other companies in civil, criminal, and congressional inquiries and investigations, has substantial experience representing clients with interests in Latin America, and has represented clients in insurance coverage litigation and in general commercial litigation.  Mr. Davies has served as co-chair of the firm’s Product Liability practice group.

Representative Matters

  • Counsel to Chiquita Brands International in mass tort lawsuits brought by Colombian nationals under the Alien Tort Statute.
  • Counsel for Johnson & Johnson/Ortho Biotech, Inc. in False Claims Act litigation involving the anemia drug Procrit®.
  • Counsel for Purdue Pharma L.P. and related entities in class action and individual lawsuits filed in federal and state courts around the country by plaintiffs who claimed personal and economic injuries from having purchased and used the company’s OxyContin® pain relief prescription medication.
  • Counsel for a joint venture of two major pharmaceutical companies in Congressional and related investigations concerning a prescription drug.
  • Product liability advisory and litigation counsel to numerous Washington, DC-based trade associations, including representation of the Consumer Healthcare Products Association in MDL proceedings relating to its members’ over-the-counter medications.
