For over 30 years, Mr. Garibaldi has drawn on his triple training as a common-law, civil-law and public- international-law lawyer in representing clients in a broad range of international matters involving complex issues of national and international law.  His current practice is centered on international arbitration and international litigation.  On international arbitration, Mr. Garibaldi is specialized in investor-State dispute resolution and also represents clients in international commercial arbitration and trade disputes.  He also serves as arbitrator.  On international litigation, Mr. Garibaldi concentrates on representing clients in complex disputes that require strategic direction or coordination of multiple lawsuits around the world.

  • Co-Lead counsel to the claimants in MTD Equity Sdn. Bhd. et al. v. Republic of Chile (ICSID Case No. ARB/01/7) (final award and final decision in annulment proceedings in favor of the claimants).
  • Co-Lead counsel to the claimants in LG&E Energy Corp et al. v. Argentine Republic (ICSID Case No. ARB/02/1) (final award in favor of the claimants, annulment proceeding pending).
  • Co-Lead counsel to the claimants in Rail World Estonia LLC et al v. Republic of Estonia (ICSID Case No. ARB/06/6) (settled).
