Nitin Subhedar is a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation practice group in the firm’s Silicon Valley office.

Mr. Subhedar has worked on a variety of commercial litigation matters, with a particular emphasis on patent cases and other intellectual property disputes.  He has litigated in federal district courts across the country, in the United States International Trade Commission, and in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  He has also counseled clients on strategies for enforcing or defending against broad patent portfolios, and for reaching negotiated resolution of patent disputes before litigation is initiated.

Mr. Subhedar has extensive experience in conducting technical analysis regarding the interpretation, validity and infringement of patents, as well as in analyzing and evaluating trade secrets.  He has worked closely with scientific experts and key technical personnel to develop litigation strategies, expert reports, and other materials designed to explain complex technical concepts to laypersons.  Mr. Subhedar has represented clients in a number of different technologies, including integrated circuits, semiconductor devices and structures, semiconductor processing and manufacturing tools, computer telephony, wireless communications, online behavioral targeting and web analytics.

Mr. Subhedar is licensed to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office.

Representative Matters

  • Representing United Microelectronics Corporation, Microchip, Donbu HiTek, Micronas GmbH, and ProMOS Technologies, Inc. in the United States International Trade Commission, in a patent infringement investigation initiated by LSI Corporation relating to contact metallization in semiconductor devices.
  • Represented Atmel Corporation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, in a patent infringement action brought by Agere Systems, Inc. relating to semiconductor processing and packaging.
  • Represented Seagate Technology, Inc. in the United States International Trade Commission, in a patent infringement investigation initiated by Steven and Mary Reiber relating to dissipative bonding tool tips used in the manufacture of hard disk drives.
  • Represented Coremetrics in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, in a patent infringement action brought by NetRatings relating to web analytics.
