Michael St. Patrick Baxter is a partner with expertise in corporate restructuring, bankruptcy reorganization, and corporate law.  His practice includes advising debtors, creditors, and official committees in bankruptcy cases, advising on the structuring of transactions involving financially troubled companies, counseling companies in workouts, corporate restructurings and bankruptcy reorganizations, and acting as a Chapter 11 bankruptcy trustee.

Representative Matters

• Congoleum Corporation.  Representing this Chapter 11 debtor as special insurance counsel in its reorganization to resolve its asbestos liabilities.
• US Airways I and II.  Represented a member of the creditors’ committee in the first bankruptcy of this airline, and the headquarters’ landlord in the second bankruptcy.
• Pathnet Telecommunications.  Represented this telecommunications company in its Chapter 11 liquidation.
• CRIIMI MAE.  Represented the equity committee in the reorganization of this financial services company.
• Lernout & Hauspie.  Represented Microsoft in connection with certain IP licenses granted to this Belgium company.
• Bangor & Aroostook Railroad.  Represented the purchaser of substantially all of the railroad assets of this Chapter 11 debtor.
